About Thesen Islands
Thesen Islands is a multi-award winning marina development within the Knysna estuary on the renowned "Garden Route" of South Africa. The marina is spread over 90ha and consists of 19 man-made islands surrounded by 25ha of tidal waterways and linked by 21 arched bridges.
  
The residential component comprises 508 houses and 56 apartments. The master plan derives from the New Urbanist principle of Traditional Neighbourhood Design. A variety of stand and home sizes are incorporated, appealing to the spectrum of "empty nesters", to families with small children, to young professionals. Neighbourhood facilities are integrated and include the mixed-use Thesen Harbour Town commercial node.
Facilities include waterway access from private jetties, communal beaches, children's play parks, a clubhouse, landscaped parklands, bird sanctuaries, comprehensive sports offerings and safe, quiet streets.
